Hakeem Campbell was a character on the UPN series, "Moesha." He was portrayed by Lamont Bentley. On January 19th, 2005 Bentley was driving alone when he was killed in a single-car accident in southern California's Ventura County after running through a stop sign. Witnesses to the accident said his vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and the vehicle went through a chain-link fence situated across the street and rolled down an embankment. Bentley was ejected from the vehicle into traffic where five cars struck him before help could arrive.
Hakeem was Moesha's good friend and next door neighbor. After finishing high school, Hakeem was accepted into Santa Monica College. When Moesha is offered a summer job touring as a business manager for her boyfriend, Q's rap group, Moesha turned it down to stay with Hakeem. Hakeem and Moesha started a relationship, but due to a misunderstanding, they broke up and Moesha went on tour with Q. After Moesha broke up with Q, she and Hakeem reconciled their relationship. Hakeem later dated Kim Parker's best friend Stevie Van Lowe, (portrayed by Jenna Von Oy in Moesha's spin off, "The Parkers").
Quinton 'Q' Brooks (portrayed by Fredro Starr) was on the UPN series, "Moesha" on seasons 2 & 3. The series was retooled and Q was eventually phased out of the series but he would appear as a recurring character on seasons 4-6.
Quinton 'Q' Brooks is Moesha's main ex-boyfriend, they are both engaged. Moesha is offered a summer job touring as a business manager for Q's rap group. They later went on tour together and Moesha broke up with him and she and her boyfriend, Hakeem ended their relationship. After Moesha and Q call of their engagement Hakeem and Moesha get back together.
